Using an AT&T Roaming Plan, your AT&T Phone should be able to work in Europe. AT&T does not offer many roaming plans, and I find the AT&T International Day Pass a bit expensive. The AT&T International Day Pass costs $10 per day and gives unlimited talk, text, data in more than 210 countries.

What is a SIM card?

SIM cards are tiny chips or cards that fit into a small slot on your mobile phone. The SIM card stores both your cell data plan and phone number. You will not be able make calls or access your data plan if you remove the SIM card from your smartphone. However, you can use it on Wi-Fi. Remove your SIM card and replace it by a European SIM. This will provide you with an European number, as well as a data plan, if data is available.
