A day trip from Split is a great option if a week island-hopping in Croatia or a sailing tour with a private guide seems too much.
Croatia is a small country so you can easily visit some of its most amazing attractions, such as the Blue Cave and Krka National Park. Plitvice National Park or the white stone architecture in Sibenik’s old town can be seen in one day.

You can plan longer Split day trips to see more of Bosnia and Herzgovina.
The best day trips from Split Croatia
Split is a more convenient option than Dubrovnik to visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Split is close to many attractions so you will spend less time travelling than if your base was Dubrovnik.

A DAY TRIP TO BLUE CAVE
A couple of hundred year ago, an explorer accidentally found the Blue Cave on Bisevo Island. It is now a must see for any nature lover.
You will travel to the island on crystal clear waters in the sunshine.
There are many tour operators who organize daily trips to the cave. The trip is a boat ride into the cave where you will spend 10 minutes learning about the history of the cave and take plenty of photos.
The Blue Cave is a must-see, but if you want to see more of Split’s beautiful islands, a Blue Cave tour with multi-island stops will allow you to do so.
Enjoy a day of fun in KRKA National Park
Krka, one of Croatia’s two internationally renowned waterfall parks, is located in the country. This is a stunning area with cascades and waterfalls that are perfect for swimming.
Even when the sun is hot, the water from the cascades and waterfalls remains cool. After a swim, you can explore the area’s easy trails, before tasting the local specialties in restaurants or shopping.
The perfect way to cool off on hot summer days is with a day trip to the Krika waterfalls.

A TRIP TO PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK
Plitvice Lakes National Par is Croatia’s biggest waterfall park. Plitvice Lakes has waterfalls that are higher and longer than Krka.
You can admire hundreds of cascades in the national park. Plitvice Lakes National Park does not allow swimming or bathing, but its view is spectacular.
You should take a Plitvice Lakes tour to see the beautiful aquamarine waters and waterfalls.
Visit to Sibenik
You can reach the old town of Sibenik in just a few hours from Split.
The town centre is built of white stone, which makes Sibenik special. The architecture of Sibenik is similar to that of other Croatian old towns. However, the white stones have a charm all their own.
St. Nicholas Fortress deserves a visit. The only way to reach land is via a narrow walkway which skims over the water. Currently, it’s only accessible by boat.

SPLIT TO HVAR Day Trip
Hvar Town is the main attraction of Hvar Island. Hvar Town’s welcoming harbour and stunning Venetian architecture make it a well-deserved honor.
This day trip is only possible in the summer. Only then can you take the passenger boat in the morning from Split to Hvar and return in the early evening to Split.
Day Trip to BRAC Island from Split
Split is a short ferry ride or boat ride away from Brac. Brac is often visited as part of a multi-island trip. However, it’s worth a visit even if you only have a day. Check out the beautiful Zlatni Rat beach on Brac Island.
Brac’s size means that there are many beaches and bays to choose from for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling or just relaxing.
Hikers can enjoy the stunning views of the mountains that rise above ocean level, thanks to the many well-traveled trails. Even inland trails are available.

Daytrips to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Split is a hub for daily trips to neighboring countries.
Mostar, Bosnia is a great place to visit to view the old bridge.
The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking. Kravice Falls in Herzegovina’s karstic region is just one area to explore.

Be prepared for a long trip if you decide to go on a day-trip in Bosnia and Herzgovina. You can also take a longer trip in the region if you want to travel more leisurely.
